First, the preservation of rubber O-rings
The storage life of rubber O-rings is determined by the material type and storage conditions of rubber. Under the recommended storage conditions, each material
The storage life of the material seal is as follows:
1 Polyurethane, thermoplastic material 4 years
2 Nitrile rubber, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, neoprene rubber 6 years
3 ethylene propylene rubber 8 years
4 Fluorine rubber, silicone rubber, fluorine silicone rubber 10 years
5 perfluorinated rubber 20 years
6 PTFE indefinitely
After exceeding the above period, the characteristics of the rubber parts should be checked before use, or they can be used for a period of time.
Two, rubber O-ring storage conditions
Rubber O-rings are affected by various external environmental factors, such as: distortion, oxygen, ozone, light, heat source, moisture, oil, or chemical solvents, rubber O-rings may fail due to changes in their physical and chemical properties. In DIN7716, ISO2230, DIN9088 and other standards for the storage, cleaning, maintenance of rubber seals have made basic provisions.
1, temperature: 5-25℃ is the ideal storage temperature. Avoid contact with heat sources and sunlight. The seals removed from the low-temperature storage state should be placed in an environment of 20 ° C before use.
2, humidity: the relative humidity of the warehouse should be less than 70%, to avoid too wet or too dry, condensation can not occur.
3, light: to avoid sunlight and strong artificial light sources containing ultraviolet rays. Uv protective packaging provides the best protection. It is recommended that the Windows of the warehouse be painted with red or orange paint or film.
4, radiation: to avoid ionizing radiation damage to the seal.
5, oxygen and ozone: rubber materials should avoid exposure to circulating air. This can be done by packing, wrapping, storing in an airtight container or other suitable means. Ozone is harmful to most elastomers, and the following equipment should be avoided in the warehouse: mercury vapor lamps, high-voltage electrical equipment, motors and other equipment.
6, deformation: Rubber parts should be placed in a free state as far as possible to avoid stretching, compression or other deformation.
7, contact with liquid or semi-solid materials: do not contact solvents, oil, grease or other semi-solid materials.
8, contact with metal or non-metallic materials: do not allow contact with magnetic materials, cast iron, copper and its alloys, or containing materials that will damage rubber. Do not use PVC material to pack seals. Seals of different materials cannot be mixed.
9, clean: according to the need, you can use soap, water to clean the seal. However, water should not touch fiber reinforced seals, rubber metal bonding seals, AU material seals. Disinfectants, organic solvents and tools with sharp edges shall not be used. After cleaning the seal should be dried at room temperature, not close to the heat source.
